On Friday, December 27, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office posted about a female suspect who “ran a scam” on a local business in Bayou Vista and walked out with approximately $3,000 in merchandise. They called the post “How the Grinch Stole AFTER Christmas.”
Within minutes, the Sheriff’s Office had their first caller that identified her as Jamie Brown from the Houma/Thibodaux area. Over the following hours, they had NUMEROUS calls and facebook messages identifying her and giving helpful information.
The Sheriff’s Office says they are amazed at the amount of information that they receive from the public anonymously about crimes, missing persons, runaway juveniles, and other situations of which we need to be aware. They added they are thankful that you partner with the Sheriff’s Office at the SMPSO to enforce the law and work hard for public safety.
Jamie Brown, 35, 102 Clifton Street, Thibodaux, LA, was arrested on January 1, 2020, at 7:58 pm on a warrant for the charge of theft and a warrant from the Forest Police Department on the charge of felony theft.
