St. Mary Parish Sheriff Takes Oath of Office for Full Four-Year Term

After serving for approximately a year and a half, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith was sworn-in to a full four-year term on Wednesday. Smith was elected to fill the unexpired term of retired Sheriff Mark Hebert on December 8, 2018. He was re-elected on October 12, 2019.

Wednesday’s ceremony, which began at 12 p.m., was held at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on the 4th Floor of the parish courthouse in Franklin.
