Dr. Teresa Bagwell, St. Mary Parish Superintendent of Schools, told KQKI News that there are currently no plans to switch public school students to virtual learning.
Bagwell said any decision to switch to virtual learning would be made on an individual school basis, based on the number of potential COVID-19 cases in the school.
According to the district’s Instructional Continuity Plan, a hybrid schedule for middle and high schools would only be employed if Governor Edwards returned to Phase Two
Edwards said on Thursday that despite the recent surge in cases in Louisiana, he is currently keeping the state in Phase Three until his current proclamation expires on Friday, December 4. However, he did say changes could be made to the proclamation if deemed necessary.
