SMPSO Warns of Scam

Sheriff Blaise Smith is advising the public that we are continuing to get calls regarding scammers. The latest one is scammers that are attempting to get social security numbers.

Never give out sensitive information over the phone, in a text message, or an email to anyone.

Also, remember that scams normally always rise up after events like a hurricane. If you hire anyone to do work on your property, make sure they are bonded and insured properly, and are reputable.
