Shooting Leaves One Dead in New Iberia
On the afternoon of August 9, 2020, Officers with the New Iberia Police Department responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Mississippi Street.
Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, a 23-year-old male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation.
Detectives were able to identify a suspect. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Tyron Deshean Chevalier, 21 years of age, on the charge of Second-Degree Murder.
