Shooting in New Iberia Results in One Dead

On Saturday, May 9, 2020 at approximately 11:38 pm, the New Iberia Police Department was notified of a shooting which occurred in the 400 block of Silver St. In New Iberia.

The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Two juveniles who lives in a residence near the shooting where injured after stray bullets entered the residence. The injuries to the juveniles were nonlife threating.

Both victims were taken to the hospital by family members where they were treated for their injuries.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time and the incident is under investigation.
