Shooting In Franklin Leads To Two Arrests
On October 24, 2020, at approximately 9:49 PM, the Franklin Police Department received a call of shots fired at a vehicle on Anderson Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle with damage from gunshots. The vehicle was occupied with three (3) juveniles and one (1) adult male subject at the time of the shooting. Upon further investigations and interviews with witnesses and victims, two (2) subjects were arrested. One juvenile sustained minor injuries and investigation efforts continue.
Tyric Trufant, 51, of Anderson St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 25, 2020, at 2:25 AM, on the charges of attempted second degree murder – 4 counts and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Trufant was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Joaquin Alexis, 36, of Anderson St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 25, 2020, at 5:24 AM, on the charges of attempted second degree murder – 4 counts and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Alexis was booked, processed, and released on a $100,000.00 bond.
