According to reports, the case has been turned over to a higher court and Sam is now scheduled to go to trial on March 17th.
Sam was arrested on Nov. 21st after citizens reported a car going the wrong way on Ellingtown Parkway in the early morning hours. According to a police report, Sam was also swerving in and out of his lane. There were two empty beers next to him when police pulled him over, and when asked for his license, Sam reportedly tried to hand the officer his credit card and passport. He failed a sobriety field test and his blood alcohol content was .173 at the time. The legal limit is .08.
Shortly thereafter, Sam issued an apology on social meeting tweeting, "I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville. It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again."
