Russ Matthew Daigle

Russ Matthew Daigle passed away at the age of 47 in the afternoon hours of Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Russ was born in Franklin on July 22, 1973, the youngest of three sons born to Russell and Gale Daigle. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and like so many in South Louisiana went on to make a living working in the Oil Field Industry. An avid outdoorsman, Russ enjoyed hunting and absolutely loved fishing. But nothing put a smile on his face like hanging out with good friends and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his children, Alexis Daigle Delatte and her husband Cody and Hunter Verdin; one grandchild, Kayne Delatte; his mother, Gale Guillory Daigle; his brothers, Louis Daigle and his wife Tisha and David Daigle; his sister, Janet Faulk and her husband Steve; his grandmother, Elda Anslum Black; nephews and nieces, Paul “PJ” Daigle Jr., Brice Daigle, Travis Daigle, Lanie D. Legnon and her husband Tretin, Jesse Daigle, Stevie Faulk and her fiancé Tyler, and Sara Chandler and her fiancé Jason; his friend who was more like a brother, Stephen Buckner; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Paul Daigle; his brother, Paul Joseph Daigle; paternal grandparents, Jessie Daigle and Ida Sauce Daigle; maternal grandparents, Joseph Guillory and Bernice Nope Guillory; and his nephew, Alex John Daigle.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. Rev. Joseph Sauce will conduct the service. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
