Randy was born on August 3, 1956 in Franklin and was the second of four children born to Henry and Delores Verret. He was a 46 year resident of Patterson who passed away at the age of 64 on Friday, July 23, 2021, just 11 days shy of his 65th birthday. A loving husband and father, Randy was also the best “Pops” in the world to his grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored. He worked the majority of his career in the marine industry as an electrician and HVAC technician. Randy was also a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, where he sang in the choir and also played the drums for the LifeTeen/Contemporary Masses. He was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Patterson Council 1710. An avid LSU Tigers fan, Randy enjoyed tailgating for LSU Games and cheering on his beloved Tigers. He was especially proud of the fact that all three of his children attended college at LSU. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, though not as much as he would’ve liked, camping, and simply spending time with family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Debra V. Verret; their two sons, Matthew Michael Verret and his wife Heather and Jacob John Verret; two grandchildren, Hunter and Bella Verret; his mother, Delores Guidry Verret; his sisters, Ramona Guillot, Tina Dugas and her husband Bobby, and Valerie Crappell and her husband Steve; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond Verret Sr. and Lola Verret; sister-in-law, Cindy Cart; brother-in-law, Raymond Verret Jr. and his wife Christine; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by their daughter, Beth Erin Verret; his father, Henry Davis Verret; his brothers-in-law, Greg Cart and Terry Guillot Sr.; and nephew, Christian Guillot.
