Pursuit Ends With Two Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff, Tim Soignet, said that two people were arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit through the southern region of Terrebonne Parish. Just before 8:30 PM on Sunday 10-25-2020 a Deputy in the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Canine Division was patrolling the area of Hwy 56 in Chauvin. This deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Mitsubishi Outlander that was traveling North. The driver acted as if she was going to stop, but then drove off.

Deputies pursued this suspect vehicle for approximately twenty minutes. This pursuit started in the Chauvin area. It went through East Houma and Down Montegut. The suspect driver violated multiple traffic laws while being pursued. Deputies observed multiple items being discarded out the windows of the suspect vehicle during the pursuit.

The suspect was brought to a stop on Mill Site Rd. in Montegut. The driver, Emily Lemmon (a 30-year-old white female from Thibodaux, La.), and passenger, Jesse Stevenson (a 29-year-old white male from Schriever, La.) were taken into custody. There were three children, ages three to six, in the vehicle.

Both adult occupants and the vehicle were searched. During the search, Deputies located a fake identification card, Methamphetamine, $2490.00 in U.S. Currency. Deputies were also able to recover multiple items of contraband that the suspects threw out the windows during the pursuit. They recovered Xanax pills, Alprazolam pills, Methamphetamine, and MDMA,

Both adult occupants were arrested and jailed at Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. The driver, Emily Lemmon, was arrested for Driving On Roadway Laned For Traffic, Aggravated Flight From An Officer, Three Counts Of Illegal Use Of CDS in The Presence Of Persons Under 17, Three Counts Of Cruelty To Juveniles, Obstruction Of Justice, Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession With Intent To Distribute MDMA, Possession With Intent To Distribute Alprazolam, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Transactions Involving Proceeds From Drug Offenses. Her bond was set at $150,000.00.

The passenger, Jesse Stevenson, was arrested for Identity Theft, Three Counts Of Illegal Use Of CDS in The Presence Of Persons Under 17, Three Counts Of Cruelty To Juveniles, Obstruction Of Justice, Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession With Intent To Distribute MDMA, Possession With Intent To Distribute Alprazolam, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Transactions Involving Proceeds From Drug Offenses. His bond was also set at $150,000.00.
