One Arrested and Two Being Sought By Chitimacha Tribal Police For Aggravated and Simple Burglary

On August 8, 2020, Chitimacha Tribal Police officers served outstanding felony warrants on Jeremy Celestine, 35-years-old,whose last known address is Ola Drive in Carencro for Aggravated Burglary and Simple Burglary.

The warrants were issued as the result of an ongoing Aggravated Burglary and Simple Burglary investigation which occurred on the Chitimacha Tribal Reservation several weeks ago.

Officers were able to observe surveillance videos of Celestine and two others enter two separate vehicles and remove a 9mm handgun from one of the vehicles.

Once Celestine was positively identified, it was learned he was recenty released, due to the corona virus, from Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility for the allegation of 23 counts of simple burglary.

Chitimacha Tribal Police were working with Lafayette area law enforcement to locate Celestine; however, on August 8, 2020, Chitimacha Police were notified Lafayette Police had come into contact with Celestine for an unrelated matter.

Celestine was transported from Lafayette to St. Mary Parish Correctional Facility without incident.

On August 9, 2020, Celestine was arrested on a warrant for additional charges by the Chitmacha Tribal Police for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone. He remained incarcerated.
