New Iberia Motorcyclist Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

St. Mary Parish – At approximately 6:30 a.m. on August 19, 2020, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of aingle-vehicle crash on the north frontage road of U.S. Highway 90 east of Louisiana Highway 668 in St. Mary Parish. The crash took the life of 73-year-old Duel E.Judice of New Iberia.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed Judice was driving a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on the north frontage road (Big John Rd) of US 90 when, for unknown reasons, exited the roadway to the left. Judice was ejected from the motorcycle after striking a culvert.
Judice, who was wearing a DOT approved helmet at the time of the crash, died at the scene. Impairment is not suspected but standard toxicology samples were obtained for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troop I has investigated 34 fatal crashes resulting in 37 deaths in 2020. This is the 6th fatal motorcycle crash investigated by Troop I this year.
