Napoleonville Man Charged with 3rd Offense D.W.I.

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael P. Butler, 40, of 135 Gold Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges resulting from a traffic stop near Napoleonville on Friday.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 1 in Napoleonville, LA and executed a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Michael P. Butler.

Upon coming into close contact with the suspect, the deputy noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and other activity consistent with drunk driving.

After interviewing the suspect, he was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

• Third Offense Driving While Intoxicated
• Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
• No Drivers License
• Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic

Michael P. Butler was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
