Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo Will Proceed As Scheduled
From the MCOFR Board:
The MCOFR board members would like to announce our intent to proceed with our annual Golf/Fishing event as scheduled. This year’s event will focus on golfing and fishing participation only, we will not be seeking sponsorships from our local business community.
The 2019 event was plagued by high water and rain. We were unable to hold our fishing tournament, and due to heavy rains, the golf tournament was on the verge of being cancelled as well. By the grace of God, the rain stopped just in time to proceed with the golfing event. Due to the incredible support of our local business community we were still able to donate.
The 2020 MCOFR Fishing Rodeo and Golf Tournament is faced with challenges as well. The MCOFR board members believe that the citizens of our community need something to look forward to and will be eager to participate. Regretfully, without our corporate sponsors, we will not have the ability to make any donations, nor have any door prizes for either event. The Fishing Rodeo and Golf Tournament entry fees will remain the same as previous years.
We would like to invite all who are willing, to come out and participate in one or both events this year. The Golf tournament will be held at Atchafalaya at Idlewild on Friday June 12, 2020 and the Fishing Rodeo will be held at the Morgan City Auditorium on Saturday June 13, 2020. We intend to remain relevant and look forward to resuming our philanthropic role in 2021.
