Morgan City Arrest Report 8-21-2020
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41-calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 8/20/2020.
Samantha Roberts, 41 years of age, Address-Highway 182, Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 8/20/2020 at 4:06 P.M.
Charge: Aggravated Assualt
Officers were called to an address on Highway 182 in reference to an assault. Upon officer’s arrival, they learned Samantha Roberts threaten the victim with a knife. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Dearius Devonte Young, 21 years of age, Address-Eight St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 8/20/2020 at 5:38 P.M.
Warrant: Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with Evidence
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department investigating recent shots fired complaints located a vehicle traveling on Seventh St. with damage consistent with being struck by gunfire. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Dearius Young. During the investigation, evidence was located linking his involvement to the call of shots fired on Eleventh St. on August 18, 2020. Investigators learned Young tampered with evidence from the August 18, incident. Investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest and he was booked at the Morgan City Police Department.
Peggy Ann Fabre, 53 years of age, Address-Francis St., Berwick, LA, was arrested on 8/20/2020 at 10:06 P.M.

Hodges Ferdinand Matthews Jr., 41 years of age, Address-General Hodges, Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 9/20/2020 at 10:22 P.M.

Narcotics Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sixth St. and General Hodges. The driver was identified as Peggy A. Fabre and passenger Hodges F. Matthews Jr. During the traffic stop, Fabre and Matthews were found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Farbe was additionally found in possession of Alprazolam. During the investigation, investigators obtain a search warrant for Matthews’s residence on General Hodges. During the search warrant, investigators located suspected methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and marijuana. Investigators located evidence the illegal drugs were intended for sales in the Morgan City area. The residence was within a zoned drug-free zone. Fabre and Matthews were placed under arrest and booked at the Morgan City Police Department.
