Morgan City Arrest Report 8-14-2020

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 48-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 82 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 08/12/2020:

Nathaniel Paul, 28 years of age, Fifth St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 08/12/2020 at 10:49 am

Charge: Urinating or Defecating in Public

Nathaniel Paul was arrested after a complaint of him Defecating in a business parking lot.  Paul was located and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

John Bartholomew, 32 years of age, New Orleans, LA was arrested on 08/12/2020 at 12:43 pm

Charges: Fugitive

John Bartholomew was booked into the Morgan City Police Department after being located in Morgan City.  Bartholomew was arrested and awaiting transfer St. Charles Parish.

Cassie Rankin, 31 years of age, Second St. Berwick, LA was arrested on 08/12/2020 at 12:49 pm

Charges: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
No Drivers License
Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
No Insurance
Criminal Trespassing
Theft-Under $1000.00

Officers were called to investigate a stolen vehicle during the investigation officers learned that Cassie Rankin had taken a vehicle without permission.  The vehicle did not have a license plate or insurance.   A second complaint on Rankin was called after a local motel due to her taking a key from the motel.   Rankin was located driving the car a short time later where she was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Chad William, 32 years of age, Berwick, LA was arrested on 08/12/2020 at 3:20 pm

Charges: Warrant Possession of Sch II CDS
Warrant Illegal use of CDS in presence of Person Under 17

Williams transported from Berwick Police Department on after being arrested on warrants from Morgan City Police Department.  The warrants stemmed from a July 21 investigation into the possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Harley Campo, 25 years of age, Third St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 08/13/2020 at 7:08 am

Charges: Possession of Sch II (Methamphetamine)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Marijuana 2ed Offense

Narcotics Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 182 in Morgan City.   The driver of the vehicle was identified as Harley Camp.  During the investigation detectives located suspected methamphetamine,  Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  Campo was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Police Department.

Kevin Veneralla, 40 years of age, Boothville, LA was arrested on 08/13/2020 at 9:18 am

Charges: Warrant-Theft between $1000 to $5000

Veneralla was arrested after a joint investigation by the Morgan City Police Department, Berwick Police Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office, and Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office.

During the investigation of stolen ATV’s from Berwick, investigators learned that the trailer used to transport the ATV’s was stolen from Morgan City.  Through the teamwork of investigators were able to identify and located Veneralla and solve several area thefts.  Veneralla was placed under arrest on warrants from the Morgan City Police Department for theft.

Bryanshekia Harris, 32 years of age, Fifth St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 08/13/2020 at 4:57 pm

Charges: Warrant FTA to pay fine City Court of Morgan City

Warrant FTA to pay fine for Simple Battery City Court of Morgan City

Officers located Harris at a local motel and learned of several outstanding warrants for her arrest.  Harris was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Keithen Humphrey, 31 years of age, Cardinal St Morgan City was arrested on 08/13/2020 at 9:28 pm

Charges: Warrant Domestic Abuse Battery-Strangulation
Warrant Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle
Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Humphry was located at a residence on Belanger St. in Morgan City and was placed under arrest on warrants for Domestic abuse battery by Strangulation and Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which stemmed from a June 27 th complaint.  During the arrest officer found Humphrey to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Humphry was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booing.

Kylah Weeden, 27 years of age,  Morgan City, LA was arrested on 08/14/2020 at 2:07 am

Charges: Warrant Failure to return leased movable

Weeded was located by officers and placed under arrest for warrants held by Morgan City Police Department.  Weeden was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
