Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 26-calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 8/10/2020.
Broderick Demond Junifer, 31 years of age, Address-Federal Ave., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 8/10/2020 at 8:23 P.M.
Charges: Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin
Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Possession with the Intent to Distribute MDMA
Possession with the Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Possession of Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
Illegal Possession Stolen Firearm ( 2 Counts)
Possession of Firearm in the Presence of Controlled
Possession of Schedule II CDS – Adderall
Transaction Involving Proceeds from CDS Activity
On the evening of August 11, 2020, the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division served a search warrant at an address on Allison St. with the assistance of St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators came into contact with Broderick Junifer. Morgan City Police Department K-9 Lady was utilized during the search warrant to assist investigators to locate illegal narcotics. Investigators located suspected heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine that was packaged for sales. Investigators located four handguns and a computer check revealed two of the handguns were stolen. A third firearm serial number was obliterated. During the investigation, it was learned Junifer was convicted of certain felonies restricting him from possessing a firearm. Investigators also located a large sum of money that is suspected proceeds from illegal narcotics sales. The location of the search warrant was with in a posted drug-free zone. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Skilan Ariel Gros, 26 years of age, Address-Greenleaf Blvd., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 8/10/2020 at 8:21 A.M.
Charge: Unauthorized Entry of Inhabited Dwelling
Officers were called to an address on Belanger St. about a person trespassing on private property. Upon officer’s arrival, they learned Skilan A. Gros entered a residence without the complaints consent. She as placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
George Davidson Harvey III, 38 years of age, Address-Cane St., Berwick, LA., was arrested on 8/10/2020 at 12:08 P.M.
Charge: Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Warrant: Failure to Appear
Officer contacted a traffic stop in the area of Railroad Ave. The driver was identified as George D. Harvey III. During the traffic stop, Harvey was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A warrant check revealed the 16th District Court held an active warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
