Morgan City Arrest Report 4-13-2020
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 48-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 135 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 4/9/2020:
Wayne Michael Escort, 31 years of age, Address-Mallard St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 4/9/2020 at 7:31 P.M.
Charge: Simple Assault
Remaining After Forbidden
Resisting an Officer
Officers were called to a Wren St. address for a disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival, they came into contact with Wayne Escort. Officers learned Escort had been previously barred from the residence and assaulted an individual. When officers attempted to arrest Escort, he began pulling away from officers. Escort was eventually handcuffed and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Gilbert Harrison, 33 years of age, Address-Egle St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 4/11/2020 at 6:48 P.M.
Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery-Felony

Officers were called to an Apple St. Address about a person trespassing. Upon officer’s arrival, they came into contact with Gilbert Harrison, who was previously barred from the property. Officers learned Harrison had committed a felony domestic abuse battery on the victim while at the residence. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Katherine Richardson, 65 years of age, Address-Marland St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 4/11/2020 at 8:05 P.M.
Charge: Aggravated Battery
Resisting an Officer
Officers were called to a Maryland St. Address for a disturbance. Upon Officers arrival, they learned from the victim, they were stabbed in the back and arm with a kitchen knife by Katherine Richardson. When officers attempted to arrest Richardson, she began pulling away from arresting officer officers. She was eventually handcuffed and placed under arrest. She transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. The victim received minor injuries.
Gerald Jones Jr., 19 years of age, address-Keith St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 4/11/2020 at 9:13 P.M.
Charge: Careless Operation
Hit and Run
Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Violation of Uniform CDS Law-Drug Free Zone
Officers were called to Brashear Ave. for a hit and run vehicle investigation. During the investigation, Officers learned Gerald Jones Jr. was the driver of the vehicle that had fled the scene. Investigators were able to locate Jones Jr. on Keith St. along with the vehicle involved in the hit and run. While speaking to Jones, investigators observed damage to Jones’s vehicle consistent with being involved in the hit and run crash on Brashear Ave. Investigators also observed a quarter pound of suspected marijuana on the front seat of the vehicle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
