More Arrests Expected In New Iberia Shots Fired Investigation
New Iberia Police say on April 4, 2020 at approximately 4:30 pm, officers with the department received a complaint regarding shots fired in the area of Spencer Loop. Upon arrival in the area officers were unable to locate the suspects involved in the incident. Officers were given a description of a vehicle used by the suspect.
Later in the evening Officers were advised that the possible suspect vehicle was back in the area of Spencer Loop. Officers went to the area and located a vehicle fitting the description. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver of the vehicle attempted to flee from officers. After a short vehicle pursuit the occupants of the vehicle abandon the vehicle and fled on foot. One of the occupants, Timothy Daniels b/m, 03/01/2002 was located after a short foot pursuit. Two others evaded capture.
Officers then learned that the vehicle was stolen out of Picayune Mississippi and the occupants had been arrested on armed robbery charges in Picayune, Mississippi.
Timothy Daniels was booked in the Iberia Parish Jail on the following charges:
- Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- Resisting Arrest
- Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of stolen thing valued over $5000.00
This is an on- going investigation and more arrest are expected.
