Local Student chosen as Diocese Student of the Year

Franklin, LA – The Hanson Memorial High School Administration is pleased to announce that Carter Anthony Faucheux, Eighth Grader at Hanson was chosen as the Diocese of Lafayette Jr. High Student of the Year.  Carter received his award from the Diocese at a ceremony in Lafayette on Friday, January 31, 2020.  Carter will now participate in a Regional level competition in Baton Rouge on February 12, 2020.  All Regional participants will complete an essay writing portion and an extensive personal interview.
Carter Anthony Faucheux is the son of Shane and Tanya Faucheux from Baldwin.  He has a 4.0 GPA and scored a 22 on the ACT as a Jr. High student.  Carter enjoys sports as well as other campus activities. Carter has learned and demonstrated leadership by becoming a Class Officer, Team Captain, Altar Service, and much more…. He excels in Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball.  He contributes back to the community by volunteering his time for many different organizations, UMCOR, VFW, Macedonia Ministry, etc…  Carter enjoys HMS Choir, 4H, Jr. BETA Club, Quiz Bowl, and much more…. Carter aspires to attend Tulane University. He wants to major in Pre-Med and become an Orthopedic Surgeon.
The mission of Hanson Memorial High School is to be a Roman Catholic school dedicated to academic excellence in the formation of a Christ-centered individual, equipped to use the gifts of soul, mind and body in positive contribution to church, family and society.  HMHS is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
