Jeanerette Police Department Searching for Suspect in Friday Evening Fatal Shooting of 17 Year Old Male

Jeanerette Police Deparment said a 17 year old male was shot to death at approximately 6:00 pm Friday evening near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Guiberteau Street and they are currently searching for a suspect.  Police believe the shooting was a result of an altercation and are looking at surveillance video and gathering evidence as part of their investigation. The shooting occurred near the Iberia Parish and St. Mary Parish line. We will update the story as more information becomes available.
