Iberia Parish Sheriff Reallocates More Than 300 Face Shields To Iberia Medical Center

New Iberia Parish Sheriff Ackal said he has been able to acquire personal protection equipment for his staff through commercial purchases and equipment allocations from the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Although the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is waiting on some continued supplies of personal protection equipment, Sheriff Ackal has been able to reallocate more than 300 protective face shields to the Iberia Medical Center. He hopes this will enable nurses and doctors to continue to protect themselves during this COVID-19 pandemic. He is asking companies that have more personal protection equipment than they need, to reach out to hospitals and first responders.
