High Speed Chase Ends With Suspect Arrested On Attempted Murder Warrant

On September 30, 2020, officers with the Jeanerette Police Department along with the Iberia parish sheriffs office arrested Clyde Darby Jr. Clyde was wanted on several outstanding felony warrants which included attempted second degree murder, (2) counts of a felon in possession of a firearm and attempted unauthorized entry. Jeanerette police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Mr. Darby on the early morning hours of September 30,2020.
Mr. Darby lead officers on a pursuit throughout city streets and parish roads. During the pursuit Mr. Darby ran his vehicle into a Jeanerette Police Unit with the officer inside. Mr. Darby was captured a few hours later and charged with additional charges steaming from the pursuit which include attempted murder of a police officer, aggravated flight, criminal damage to property, possession of synthetic cannabinoid and no drivers license.
Clyde was transported and booked into the Iberia parish jail on the above mentioned charges!
