Hannah Landry

November 22, 2005 – August 15, 2020

With heavy hearts we announce the home going of Hannah Lynn Landry, who passed away at the all too young age of 14 following a tragic accident on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Hannah was born in New Iberia on November 22, 2005, the second of four children and only daughter of Torry and Heather Landry. The saying “to know her was to love her” was never more true than of Hannah. The quintessential 14 year old girl, Hannah had a vibrant and energetic personality. Her beautiful eyes and dazzling smile drew you in, but it was her loving nature and her beauty within that really captivated those around her. Saint Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church once stated, “There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” Hannah was just that, a true friend who strived to lift up all she came in contact with through positivity and genuine love. Shehad a love of animals, dancing, spending time outdoors, going to the beach, being on the water, and especially hanging out with her friends and family. Adventurous at heart, she had no fear, loved life, and packed it to the fullest. She so loved cutting up with her family in their rat rods and was looking forward to an in-the-making skydiving adventure with her mom. Given the nickname Little Miss Hollywood by family and close friends, Hannah was a natural at being photographed and was always able to strike the perfect pose for the camera. In the words of her parents, Hannah was a perfect daughter as well as a “mother hen” who was protective of her family. The world will be a lot less bright without her presence shinning forth on this side of eternity. Go in peace sweet Hannah. Until we meet again.

Those she leaves to cherish her beautiful memory include her parents, Torry J. Landry and Heather Lynn Naquin Landry; three brothers, Aidan Landry, Cullen Landry, and Kaleb Landry; paternal grandparents, Tommy Landry and Sheryl Boudreaux Landry; maternal grandparents, Laura Delcambre Bouton and Chad Bouton, Danny Champagne and Denette Bolton Champagne, and Barry Naquin and Robbi Concienne Naquin; great grandparents, Hazel Charpentier Delcambre, Anna Mae Trosclair Champagne, E.J. Bouton and Dianne Christensen Bouton, and Andrew Vilcan Jr.; aunts and uncles, Debra Stevens Bourque, Tana Landry Ward, Thomas Landry Jr., Chris Naquin, and Alaina Champagne; as well as numerous cousins, family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by great grandparents, A. E. Landry, Cecilia Pesson Landry, Russell J. Boudreaux, Euna Taylor Vilcan, and Elton Anthony Delcambre.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Church of the Assumption during a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Following she will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Landry Jr., Chris J. Naquin, Jackson Wells, Corey Martin, Chad D. Bouton, and Danny Champagne. Honorary pallbearers will be Aidan Landry and Cullen Landry. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until Mass time, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 1:00 p.m.

Due to the current restrictions concerning limited sized gatherings, current state guidelines will only allow for up to 50% church capacity of family members and friends to be in attendance during the visitation and service. Visitors are also asked to practice social distancing and to wear face masks/coverings in accordance with the Governor’s mandate.

Hannah’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone for the overwhelming love and support shown to them in this most heartbreaking of times. Your prayers are truly felt.
