GARTH BROOKS TO RECEIVE BILLBOARD ICON AWARD – (02/27/2020)
Garth Brooks will receive the ICON Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, taking place on Wednesday, April 29th in Las Vegas and airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The 19-time Billboard Music Award winner joins only eight other artists to ever receive the honor, including Cher, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey. Garth will also perform during the live broadcast.
He is in the midst of his Stadium Tour, which played at Ford Field in Detroit last weekend. Next up is Charlotte, NC’s Bank of America Stadium on May 2nd.

  • Garth is the first and only artist in history to achieve eight diamond-certified albums at over 10 million album sales each. He remains the #1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, certified by the RIAA with more than 156 million album sales.
  • In January, Billboard announced that Garth became the first artist to have appeared on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart in the ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, ‘10s and ‘20s.
