Cypress Sawmill Festival Discontinued Indefinitely

Officials with the Cypress Sawmill Festival have announced that the festival has been discontinued, indefinitely. The decision comes after the festival has dealt with weather-related issues over the past several years. The festival was suspended in 2017 due to challenges with the weather that resulted in declining revenue.
The festival returned in 2018 but was affected by weather yet again. Just one day before the 2019 festival was set to begin, the Tri-City area was inundated by flooding rains which resulted in the cancellation of last year’s festival.
The festival was held for over 25 years. Its original purpose was to assist with the funding of the Patterson Cypress Sawmill Museum.
KQKI has not yet made a decision as to when and where this year’s KQKI Country Music Showdown will be held. An announcement will be made once those plans are in place.
Reschedule it for a different date.
