Civil, Juvenile, and Criminal Court Postponed in Morgan City

Pursuant to the declared COVID-19 Emergency and the Stay-At-Home Order issued by Gov. Edwards, effective, Monday, March 23, 2020, the Morgan City Clerk of Court’s Office, the Juvenile Services Office and the Probation Office will be closed to the public.   Our office will continue to have staff in order to conduct business.   Please call our office during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday.    Our numbers are (985) 384-2718, if no answer call (985) 702-0955; Juvenile Services (985) 384-5273.   

The City Court of Morgan City has announced that all Civil, Juvenile and Criminal cases have been postponed effective immediately through Monday, April 13, 2020.    Please call the Clerk’s Office to get your new court date or a notice will be mailed to your last address on your booking sheet.  It is your responsibility to contact the Clerk’s Office with a current address. Traffic tickets requiring mandatory appearance is waived.    All traffic tickets and fines dueduring this time period can be paid on our online service  (ww.morgancitytix.com).   

Those trials, hearings, arraignments and due date court appearances are continued with the exception of 72hour hearings, arraignments for incarcerated persons and bond hearings.   

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to returning to regular service as soon as possible.
