Zeke, as he was affectionately known, was born in Franklin on February 19, 1941 and passed away at the age of 79 at his home on Sunday, August 16, 2020, with his family at his side. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Zeke was the hardest working man you could ever meet, making sure to provide for his family. He worked in the Oil Field as a welder and fabricator for many years until his declining health would no longer allow. Not one suited to retirement, he then went to work as a hotshot drive for ten years until retiring in 2017. After retiring, Zeke enjoyed spending time with family and working in his yard.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Evelyn “Tootsie” Champagne Ficarotto; his daughter, Gina Ficarotto; his son and best friend, Tony Blake Ficarotto; one grandchild, Trevan Dupre and his wife Melissa; four great grandchildren, Ella Dupre, Sophia Dupre, Eli Dupre, and Tayson Dupre; one brother, John Ficarotto and his wife Esther; sister-in-law, Audrey Ficarotto; brother-in-law, Hulin Benoit; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ciro Ficarotto and Mary Benfiglio Ficarotto; granddaughter, Rozlon Ficarotto; two brothers, Frank Ficarotto and Camello Ficarotto; and sister, Mary Benoit.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Ficarotto, Trevan Dupre, John Ficarotto, Mark Peltier, Henry Bailey, and Aubrey Nash.
