Chitimacha Tribal Police Charge Two with Several Drug Charges

According to Citimacha Tribal Police Chief Hal Hutchinson, on August 3, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Officers with the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department responded to a call for service at a local Tribal Business reference counterfeit currency. When Officers arrived at the business, they made contact in the parking lot with a W/M suspect identified as Jarren Carrier. Carrier told Officers that he was going to check on his girlfriend in a pickup truck on the lot. Officers proceeded to the pickup truck and located a W/F asleep in the driver’s seat. She was identified as Brittany Conrad.

While speaking with Conrad, Officers observed narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. After securing those items, Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in Officers locating narcotics weighing approximately:

123 grams of Marijuana

3.5 Grams of Heroin

21.3 Grams of Methamphetamine

Officers also located:
$2,000.00 in US Currency

2 Handguns

14 Debit/Credit Cards belonging to persons other than Carrier and Conrad

Drug Paraphernalia

Carrier was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (22 Counts), Transaction with Drug Proceeds from CDS, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of THC Oil, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Possession of a Legend Drug without Prescription, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 Counts), Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of CDS, Monetary Instrument Abuse.

Conrad was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (22 Counts), Transaction with Drug Proceeds from CDS, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana (3 Counts), Possession of THC Oil, Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of CDS and Identity Theft (16 Counts).

Carrier and Conrad were transported to and booked into St Mary LEC.
