Chitimacha Arrest Report 8-4-2020

Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reports the following arrests:
On 7-30-20, Clarence Broussard, 78, Julia Street, New Iberia, was arrested for hit and run driving and released on a summons. An officer responded to a Tribal business in reference to damage to a vehicle. During the investigation, it was learned Broussard was involved but had already left the premises. Broussard returned to the Chitimacha Police Department where he was issued a summons.
On 8-2-20, Mikea Shaw, 24, East Simcoe, Lafayette, was arrested for unlawful use of a state issued ID to enter a gaming facility and released on a summons. An officer responded to a Tribal business in reference to someone using someone else’s ID. During the investigation, it was learned Shaw was involved and was arrested.
On 8-2-20, an officer observed a vehicle perform a traffic infraction and a traffic stop was conducted. During the traffic stop, the following were arrested:
Jermaine Williams, 21, Cimarroncito Lane, Humble, Texas, was arrested for speeding and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and released on a summons.
Two (2) 16-year-old juveniles, Tennessee Street, Lafayette, were both arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Both juveniles were released to their parent on a summons.
On 8-2-20, M’Lasia Bowser, Batiste Street, Baldwin, was arrested for possession of schedule I (Marijuana) and released on a summons. An officer came into contact with Bowser in reference to a separate complaint. During the investigation, it was learned Bowser was in possession of an illegal narcotic and was arrested.
On 8-3-20, Lance Meyer, Oneida Street, Charenton, was arrested for domestic abuse by strangulation. He was transported to the parish jail. An officer responded to a Tribal residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. During the investigation, it was learned Meyer had committed the battery but had already left the premises and a warrant was issued. Rayne Police Department arrested Meyer on the warrant and he was turned over to the Chitimacha Police Department without incident.
