Chitimacha Arrest Report 10-26-2020
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reports the following arrests:
On 10-22-20, Marlon Phillips, 25, Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, was arrested on a fugitive warrant for New Iberia Police Department for principal to 1st degree murder, 3 counts of principal to attempted 1st degree murder, and 2 counts of principal to aggravated assault with a firearm. He was turned over to the New Iberia Police Department without incident. Officers learned of the warrant for Phillips for New Iberia Police Department. Phillips was located at a residence on the Reservation and was arrested with the assistance of multiple agencies.
On 10-23-20, Martin Scelfo, 28, Highway 87, Franklin, was arrested for theft and criminal trespass. He remained incarcerated at the parish jail. On 09/28/2020, an officer, along with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, was investigation an unauthorized use of an access card complaint. During the investigation, it was learned Scelfo was involved and warrants were issued. Scelfo was arrested by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on the warrant and he was processed on the charges.
On 10-25-20, Danglo White, Vaughn Alley, Patterson, was arrested for identity theft, bank fraud, access device fraud and racketeering. He was transported to the parish jail. On 01/27/2017, officers responded to a Tribal business in reference to a possible theft by fraud. During the investigation, it was learned White was part of a group of individuals who committed the above crimes. Warrants were issued in March 2017. On 10/14/20, White was arrested by Irving Police Department in Texas on the warrant. He was turned over to the Chitimacha Police Department without incident.
On 10-26-20, Gavin Brown, 24, Cherokee Street, Charenton, was arrested for Tribal charges for 2 counts felony theft, burglary, and attempted burglary. He was transported to the parish jail. On 10/12/20, an officer responded to a complaint in reference to a theft and burglary at a Tribal residence. During the investigation, it was learned Brown was involved and a warrant was issued. On 10/26/20, Brown was arrested on the warrant and charges.
