Chitimacha Arrest Report 1-2-2020

Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reports the following arrests:
On 12-23-19, Armando Hernandez-Pelico, 25, unknown address, was arrested for sexual battery and false identification.  He was transported to the parish jail.  Officers responded to a Tribal business in reference to a sexual battery.  During the investigation, it was learned Hernandez-Pelico was involved and was arrested.
On 12-23-19, Bryant Vital, 60, E. Washington Street, New Iberia, was arrested for possession of schedule I 2nd offense (Marijuana), proper equipment required, and turn signal required and released on a summons.  An officer patrolling the area observed a vehicle without brake lights and conducted a traffic stop.  During the investigation, Narcotics K-9 was deployed which resulted in the arrest of Vital.
On 12-28-19, Pernell Michael, 56, Bank Street, New Iberia, was arrested for theft and driving under suspension.  He was transported to the parish jail.  On 12-27-19, officers responded to a Tribal business in reference to a theft.  During the investigation, it was learned that Pernell Michael had committed the theft but had left the premises.  A warrant was issued for Michael.  On 12-28-19, Michael was located at a Tribal business and was arrested on the Chitimacha Police Department warrant and charges.
On 12-28-19, Shekara Sanders, 34, Ann Street, New Iberia, was arrested for an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for child desertion.  She was transported to the parish jail.  An officer came into contact with Sanders during an investigation when an active warrant was found for her.
On 12-29-19, Jesse Couvillier, 36, Highway 182, Jeanerette, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and speeding.  He was transported to the parish jail.  An officer, while patrolling the area, observed a traffic infraction on a vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop.  During the traffic stop, it was learned Couvillier was impaired and was arrested.  Also two (2) passengers inside the vehicle were issued summons for possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles.
