Charles William Dantin

Funeral services for Charles William Dantin will be held Friday, March 6, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. Following the services Mr. Dantin will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will conduct the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 o’clock. Serving as pallbearers will be John Moresi, Sr., John John Moresi, Jr., Robert Arton, Steven Arton, Taylor Barrilleaux, Joshua Moresi, and Landon Granger.
Mr. Charles was born in Franklin on May 15, 1923, the third of six children born to the late Wallace and Julia Dantin, and passed away at the age of 96 on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the Franklin Health Care Center. He enlisted in the United States Army on June 17, 1942 and faithfully served his country during World War II in the European Campaign in Italy with the 941st Engineer Battalion Company B and was honorably discharged on November 2, 1945 with the rank of Technician Fifth Class. He returned to Franklin and married the love of his life, Dolores Falterman, on April 11, 1949. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 4201 as well as a member of the American Legion Post 63.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his daughters, Lorraine Sue Dantin Granger and Terrance Ann “Teri” Dantin Arton and her husband Robert; four grandchildren, Kenny Granger, Jr. and his wife Latrell, Cindy Moresi and her husband John, Jason Granger, and Steven Arton and his wife Amanda; nine great grandchildren, Hailey Granger, Kennen Barrilleaux and husband Taylor, Victoria Fondal and husband Eric, Landon Granger, Allyson Verret and husband Alex, Ashley Bella and husband Steven, John John Moresi, Joshua Moresi, and Taylor Granger; seven great great grandchildren, Kilynn, Kooper, and Kyzer Fondal, Kinley and Bailey Verret, Graham Moresi, and Noah Bella; his brother, Thomas “Ted” Dantin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores “Shing” Falterman Dantin; his parents, Wallace Alcide Dantin Sr. and Julia Hazel Romaire Dantin; two brothers, Wallace “Jake” Dantin Jr. and Wilson Dantin; two sisters, Marian D. LeBlanc and Alice D. Clark; and a great great granddaughter, Kenleigh Fondal.
