Berwick Arrest Report 7-27-2020
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Daniel Elliot W/M 20 yoa of Morgan City was arrested on July 27, 2020 at 10:13 AM for
- POSSESSON OF STOLEN THINGS (Berwick Warrant)
On Monday July 27, 2020 Elliot was located at the Morgan City Jail and transported to Berwick P.D. after learning that our agency held an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an incident that occurred on April 29, 2020 in which a bicycle was reported stolen from the Berwick area and Elliot was found to be in possession of it. A warrant was prepared for his arrest in April and he was located at the Morgan City Jail where he was incarcerated on other unrelated charges. Elliot remains incarcerated on a $301.00 cash bond.
Dionte Kenny B/M 20 yoa. of Oregon St. Berwick was arrested on Monday July 27, 2020 at 3:44 PM for
- BATTERY OF A DATING PARTNER (Berwick Warrant)
On Monday July 27, 2020 at approx. 3:44 PM Dionte Kenny entered Berwick Police Dept. and stated that he wanted to turn himself in on an active warrant that Berwick P.D. held for his arrest. Kenny was placed under arrest and booked into the Berwick Jail on the warrant. The warrant stems from an incident that occurred on July 16, 2020 in which a Kenny girlfriend reported that he had committed a battery on her. The matter was investigated and a warrant was prepared for his arrest. Kenny posted a $2,500.00 bond and was released.
Brandon Grant B/M 37 Johnson Dr. Berwick was arrested on July 24, 2020 at 03:53 AM for
- SIMPLE BATTERY
On July 24, 2020 at approximately 03:38 AM the Berwick Police Department received a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Johnson Dr. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the Grant and a female at the residence. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Grant committed a battery on the female. Grant was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Simple Battery.
JUVENILE 17 was arrested on July 24, 2020 at 8:52 PM for
- WARRANT- FELONY THEFT $2,000.00
JUVENILE 14 was arrested on July 24, 2020 at 8:52 PM for
- WARRANT- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
On July 24, 2020 at approximately 8:45 PM officers responded to an address on River Road and located a juvenile who had active warrants through the Berwick Police Department. During this time another juvenile was located at the residence who also had warrants for an unrelated incident The juveniles were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where one was booked on a warrant for Felony Theft and the other was booked on a warrant for Possession of Marijuana. Following the booking process, the juveniles were released to a parent pending a court hearing.
Leroy Davis III B/M 29 First St. Morgan City was arrested on July 25, 2020 at 11:40 PM for
- TWO TAIL LIGHTS REQUIRED
- DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
On July 25, 2020 at approximately 11:31 PM an officer in the area of LA Hwy. 182 observed a vehicle traveling with only one functioning tail light. A traffic stop was made on the vehicle and officers made contact with Davis. A computer check showed that Davis’ license was suspended. Davis was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Two Tail Lights Required and Driving Under Suspension.
