Berwick Police Chief David Leonard repots the following arrest:
Travis Montgomery W/M 46 Neptune Rd. Morgan City was arrested on June 20, 2021 at 10:04 PM for
- STOP SIGN VIOLATION
- FLIGHT FROM AN OFFICER
- EXPIRED DRIVER’S LICENSE
- ALTERED MVI
On June 20, 2021 at approximately 9:53 PM officers observed a vehicle pass a stop sign. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic on the vehicle however it disregarded lights and sirens and continued traveling. After a brief time, the vehicle pulled into a driveway where officers made contact with Montgomery. During the course of the stop, it was learned that Montgomery had an altered MVI sticker and his driver’s license was expired. Montgomery was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Stop Sign Violation, Flight from an Officer, Altered MVI, and Expired Driver’s License.
Justin Adams W/M 43 Sydney Jo Ln. Berwick was arrested on June 21, 2021 at 12:09 AM for
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE III CDS SUBUTEX
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
- ST. MARY PARISH WARRANT- POSSESSION OF HEROIN, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, AND ATTEMPTED THEFT UNDER $1,000.00
On June 20, 2021 just before midnight, officers observed Adams walking on LA Hwy. 182 and it was learned that he had active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Officers made contact with Adams and while speaking with him he was found to be in possession of a Subutex pill that he did not have a prescription for and items of drug paraphernalia. Adams was placed under arrest for the warrant, Subutex, and paraphernalia. Adams was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule III CDS Subutex, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Attempted Theft.
