Berwick Arrest Report 6-12-2020
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Craig Corbett Nini W/M 39 yoa. of Toups St. Berwick was arrested on Thursday June 11, 2020 at 11:10 pm for
- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
- OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
- CARELESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
On Thursday June 11, 2020 at approx. 9:21 pm Berwick Police Officers were patrolling the area of Hwy 182 when they observed a vehicle driving in a careless manner. It was observed that the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign, and also failed to use turn signals at several intersections. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Craig Nini. During the course of the traffic stop, officers smelled an odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle and furthered the investigation. A Morgan City K-9 was contacted and assisted with the traffic stop. Officers located Marijuana during the investigation and also determined that Nini was suspected of trying to conceal narcotics by swallowing something during the traffic stop. Nini was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Jail where he was booked on the charges. Nini remains in jail with no bond set at this time.
