Berwick Arrest Report 4-26-2021

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

Kacy Sons W/F 36 First St. Morgan City was arrested on April 23, 2021 at 11:24 AM for

  • WARRANT- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE IV CDS
  • WARRANT- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
  • WARRANT- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • WARRANT- IMPROPER LANE USAGE

On April 23, 2021 Sons was located in Morgan City and placed under arrest by the Morgan City Police Department. Sons was transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked on active warrants for the Berwick Police Department.

Richard Boone B/M 26 El Paso Tx was arrested on April 24, 2021 at 2:55 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

On April 24 2021 officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a window tint violation. During the course of the stop, Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Throughout the course of the investigation, Boone arrived on the scene of the traffic stop and admitted that that items belonged to him. Boone was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Gregory Payne W/M 45 Oregon St. Berwick was arrested on April 24, 2021 at 4:53 PM for

  • LOUD MUSIC
  • DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION

On April 24, 2021 at approximately 4:40 PM officers with the Berwick Police Department observed a vehicle traveling on Hwy. 182 and loud music could be heard coming from the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with Payne. During the course of the traffic stop a computer check showed that Payne’s driver’s license was suspended. Payne was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Loud Music and Driving Under Suspension.

Chris Toups W/M 41 First St. Berwick was arrested on April 25, 2021 at 3:51 PM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE 2ND OFFENSE

On April 25, 2021 the Berwick Police Department received a call about Toups causing a disturbance at a residence on First Street. Officers arrived and made contact with Toups and warned him that if officers had to return for him causing a disturbance, he would be subject to arrest. Later that afternoon, The Berwick Police Department received another call stating Toups was back at the residence causing another disturbance. Officers arrived for the second time and Toups was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Disturbing the Peace 2nd Offense.

Kayla Morin W/F 31 Friendship Alley Amelia was arrested on April 25, 2021 at 9:57 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE IV CDS XANAX
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • INTRODUCTION OF CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL FACILITY

On April 25, 2021 at approximately 9: 37 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for speeding. During the course of the stop Morin was identified as a passenger inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted after officers detected an odor of Marijuana coming from inside. During this time, officers located several Xanax pills in Morin’s purse which she did not have a prescription for. Morin was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Upon arrival Morin was found to have a bag of marijuana concealed on her person. Morin was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule IV CDS Xanax, Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana, and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
