Berwick Arrest Report 4-21-2021

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

Juvenile B/M 13 arrested on April 20, 2021 at 08:16 AM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING

Juvenile B/F 17 arrested on April 20,2021 at 08:16 AM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING

Juvenile B/F 14 arrested on April 20, 2021 at 08:16 AM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING

On April 20, 2021 at approximately 08:00 AM the Berwick Police Department received a call from school personnel that three juveniles were involved in a physical altercation while on the bus en route to school. Officers arrived at the school and the juveniles were identified and placed under arrest. The juveniles were transported to the Berwick Police Department where they were booked on the charge of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting and were all released to a parent pending a court hearing.

Juvenile W/F 14 arrested on April 20, 2021 at 10:07 AM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING

On April 20, 2021 at approximately 09:55 AM the Berwick Police Department received a call from a local school advising that a female juvenile hit another student for unknown reasons. Officers responded to the school and located the juvenile who was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. The juvenile was booked on the charge of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Following the booking process, the juvenile was released to a parent pending a court hearing.

Tanner Scarbrough W/M 21 Bayou Black Dr. Gibson was arrested on April 20, 2021 at 9:51 PM for

  • CARELESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
  • NO DRIVER’S LICENSE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE

On April 20, 2021 at approximately 9:30 PM an officer in the area of LA Hwy. 182 observed a vehicle traveling in a careless manner. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with Scarbrough. During the course of the stop, it was learned that Scarbrough did not have a driver’s license. An odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle and a search was conducted. As a result of the search, officers located Methamphetamine inside the vehicle, which Scarbrough admitted belonged to him. Scarbrough was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, No Driver’s License, and Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine. Scarbrough remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Quintin Douglas B/M 29 Tiffany St. Patterson was arrested on April 21, 2021 at 01:47 AM for

  • LICENSE PLATE LIGHT REQUIRED
  • IMPROPER LANE USAGE
  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (OVER 28 GRAMS)
  • POSSESSION OF A FIREARM IN THE PRESENCE OF A CDS
  • TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING DRUG PROCEEDS
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

JOHNATHAN CALDWELL B/M 24 Leo Dr. Patterson was arrested on April 21, 2021 at 01:47 AM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (OVER 28 GRAMS)
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

On April 21, 2021 at approximately 01:20 AM an officer in the area of LA Hwy. 182 observed a vehicle cross over the fog line and observed that the vehicle did not have a functioning license plate light. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle where officers made contact with Douglas and Caldwell. While speaking with Douglas, Marijuana pieces were observed on his lap and an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was done at which time a quantity of Marijuana was located along with a firearm. Douglas was found to have a large amount of US Currency on his person. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the Marijuana was intended to be sold and that both Douglas and Caldwell shared involvement in the selling of the Marijuana. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Douglas was booked on the charges of License Plate Light Required, Improper Lane Usage, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS Marijuana (Over 28 Grams), Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Transactions Involving Drug Proceeds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Caldwell was book on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS Marijuana (Over 28 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. It was also learned that both had active warrants through other agencies. Douglas and Caldwell remain incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
