Berwick Arrest Report 4-20-2020
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Andrew Hebert B/M 28 yoa. of Berwick was arrested on Sunday April 19, 2020 at 09:03 am for
- DISTURBING THE PEACE (Berwick Warrant )
- RESISTING AN OFFICER (Berwick Warrant)
- BATTERY OF A POLICE OFFICER (Berwick Warrant)
On Sunday morning at approx. 6:16 am Officers with the Berwick Police Dept. came into contact with Andrew Hebert at a local store where Hebert was shouting and appeared to have been on some type of narcotics. At this point officers advised Hebert that he needed to leave the area. Minutes later, a call was received from the store indicating that Hebert had returned causing a disturbance with store employees and also patrons in the store by shouting profanities and being irate. Upon arrival, officers made contact and tried placing Hebert under arrest however he shoved off the officer. A civilian in the parking lot at the time tried to assist, however Hebert was able to escape and flee the area. Warrants were prepared for his arrest for Disturbing the Peace, Resisting An Officer, and Battery Of A Police Officer. At approx. 09:00 Morgan City Police Dept. observed Hebert walking on Federal Ave. near Duke St. Berwick Officers met with M.C.P.D. and took custody of Hebert. He was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Jail where he was booked on the charges. He was later transported to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and being held on a $1,500.00 bond.
