Berwick Arrest Report 3-6-2020

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Isaaiah William W/M 19 yoa. of Henry St. Patterson was arrested on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 9:39 am for

  • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA 2MD OFFENSE
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • VIOLATION OF CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE IN DRUG FREE ZONE
  • ILLEGAL USE OF CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE IN PRESENCE OF MINOR
  • CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF JUVENILES

On Thursday March 5, 2020 at approx. 8:54 am Berwick Officers along with St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office K-9 unit  responded to Berwick High School after receiving a tip concerning illegal drug activity.  Upon arrival, St. Mary Sheriff’s Office K-9 was deployed and after an investigation into the complaint, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia was located in a vehicle.  Isaaiah Williams was identified as the suspect and was placed under arrest.  He was later transported to Berwick Police Department and booked on the charges. Williams remains in the Berwick Jail with no bond set at this  time.
Debra Black W/F 62 yoa. of Blum Blvd Berwick was arrested on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 5:41 pm for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE
  • SIMPLE BATTERY

On Thursday March 5, 2020 at apporx. 5:27 pm Berwick Officers responded to Blum Blvd after receiving a call about a disturbance on Fourth St.  Upon arriving in the area, officers learned that Black was accused of chasing several juveniles that were in the area playing.  During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Black at some point grabbed one of the juveniles for unknown reasons.  After speaking to witnesses, officers placed Black under arrest. She was later transported to Berwick P.D. where she was booked into the Berwick Jail and later posted bond of $477.00 and was released.
