Berwick Arrest Report 3-2-2020
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Kenneth Cornes W/M 49 yoa. of Mount St. Berwick was arrested on Saturday February 29, 2020 at 11:00 pm for
- OPERATING A VEHICLE WHILE INTOXICATED
- RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
On Saturday February 29, 2020 at approx.. 10:36, Berwick Officers responded to the area of Fairview Dr. in Berwick in reference to a single vehicle crash in which a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the driver identified as Kenneth Cornes who was found to be possibly impaired. Cornes was asked to submit to the field sobriety test which he was only able to do one of the test. Cornes was then placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Police Dept. where he submitted to the states breath test with the results of .084g% BAC. A urine sample was also collected from Cornes which will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab with results pending. Cornes posted a $3,000.00 bond and was released.
David Aucoin Sr. W/M 42 yoa.of Chestnut Dr. Morgan City was arrested on Monday morning March 2, 2020 at 2:28 am for

- EXPIRED DRIVER LICENSE
- THEFT (Berwick Warrant)
- FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR HEARING (St. Mary Warrant)
Bettina Lynn Duval W/F 45 yoa. of Chestnut Dr. Morgan City was arrested on Monday morning March 2, 2020 at 2:38 am for
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On Monday morning March 2, 2020 at 2:01 am Berwick Officers were on patrol in the area of U.S. Hwy 90 when the observed a vehicle traveling with no light illuminating the license plate area. Officers conducted a traffic stop at Tokyo Fish parking lot in Morgan City and identified the driver as David Aucoin and passenger Bettina Duval. During the course of the traffic stop, Officers gained consent to search the vehicle. At this time, the passenger identified as Duval was found to be in possession of a plastic container which contained a clear bag of Methamphetamine and also a second bag of Methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia as well. Duval was placed under arrest and later transported to Berwick P.D. where she was booked on the charges. Driver Aucoin was also arrested on warrants and the traffic violations. Both Duval and Aucoin remain incarcerated with no bonds set at this time.
