Berwick Arrest Report 2-10-2020

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Walter Kidder W/M 36 Peaceful Ln. Bayou Blue was arrested on February 6,2020 at 3:20PM for

  • PROPER EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
  • POSSESSION OF SCH II METHAMPHETAMINE
  • DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
  • WARRANT FOR ST MARY PARISH

Amanda Aucoin W/F 35 Peaceful Ln. Bayou Blue was arrested on February 6,2020 at 3:20PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCH II METHAMPHETAMINE

On February 6, 2020 at approximately 2:20 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for having improper equipment. During this time officers made contact with Kidder and Aucoin inside the vehicle. It was learned that Kidder’s drivers license was suspended and that he had active warrants through th St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. A search of the vehicle was conducted at which time Methamphetamine was located. Aucoin and Kidder were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Kidder was booked on the charges of Proper Equipment Required, Driving Under Suspension, Possession of SCH II Methamphetamine, and a warrant for the sheriffs office. Aucoin was booked on the charge of Possession of SCH II Methamphetamine.
Joshua Robertson B/M 28 Jones St. Berwick was arrested on February 6, 2020 at 8:05 PM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCH I MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • VIOLATION OF CDS LAW DRUG FREE ZONE
  • ILLEGAL USE OF CDS IN PRESENCE OF A JUVENILE

Shabbaneika Myles B/F 27 Jones St. Berwick was arrested on February 6, 2020 at 8:05 PM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCH I MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • VIOLATION OF CDS LAW DRUG FREE ZONE
  • ILLEGAL USE OF CDS IN PRESENCE OF A JUVENILE

Taj Broussard B/M 23 Hammond St. Lafayette was arrested on February 6, 2020 at 8:05 PM for

  • ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM
  • POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON

On February 6, 2020 at approximately 5:22PM officers responded to a residence after receiving a call of narcotic use. Upon arrival officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming the residence. A search warrant was obtained. During the search officers made contact with Myles, Robertson, and Broussard. Marijuana packaged for sales along with a digital scale were located in Myles and Robertsons bedroom. Officers located a firearm in a vehicle for Broussard that was reported stolen through another parish. A computer check revealed that Broussard was a convicted felon. A small child was present during the time of initial contact and the residence is within 2,000 ft of a church and school. Myles, Robertson , and Broussard were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Myles and Robertson were booked on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute SCH I Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Violation of CDS Law Drug Free Zone, and Illegal Use of a CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile. Broussard was booked on the charges of Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Amber Yarbrough W/F 37 of Ella Blvd Houston TX was arrested on Friday February 7, 2020 at 5:49 pm for:

  • VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER (Berwick Warrant)

On February 7, 2020 Berwick Officers went to a Berwick address after learning that Amber Yarbrough was present and that she had active warrants through Berwick Police.  Officers went to the residence and located Yarbrough and placed her under arrest for the warrant.  The warrant stems from an incident on December 12, 2019 in which a complainant filed a complaint with Berwick P.D. concerning Yarbrough contacting her. It was learned at this time point that during this time, there was an active protective order had been in place that prohibited Yarbrough from contacting the victim.  Yarbrough was transported to Berwick Jail and later posted a bond of $2,500.00.
Jennifer Robicheaux W/F  53 yoa. John St. Berwick was arrested on Sunday morning February 9, 2020 at 12:15 am for:

  • DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY

On early Sunday morning Officers responded to a residence on John St. after receiving a call about a disturbance at the residence. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Robicheaux and another occupant and learned that a disturbance had taken place between the two. After further investigation, it was learned that Robicheaux had committed a battery on her husband during the disturbance. Officers placed Robicheaux under arrest and she was later transported to Berwick jail where she remains incarcerated waiting bond.
Latasha Thomas B/F 32 yoa. Orange St. Morgan City was arrested Sunday February 9, 2020 at 7:51 pm for:

  • DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
  • NO INSURANCE
  • TWO HEADLIGHTS REQUIRED

On Sunday February 9, 2020 at approx. 7:17 pm Berwick Officers were patrolling the area of Sixth St. when they observed a vehicle operating with one headlight. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Latasha Thomas. Thomas advised that she did not have a driver’s license however a computer check revealed that she did in fact have a license but it was suspended.  Also during the traffic stop, officers revealed that the veihcle she was driving did not have insurance.  Thomas was placed under arrest and later transported to Berwick jail where she was booked on the charges and remains incarcerated on a $378.00 cash bond.
