Murray Bridget Jr. B/M 42 yoa. of Patterson was arrested on Friday December 11, 2020 at 4:02 PM for
- SPEEDING 76MPH 55MPH ZONE
- FLIGHT FROM AN OFFICER (On Foot)
- AGGARAVTED FLIGHT FROM AN OFFICER (In Vehicle)
- AGGRAVATED OBSTRUCTION OF A HIGHWAY OF COMMERCE
- OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
- POSSESSION OF PROHIBITED ACTS SCHEDULE II ADDERALL
- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA 2ND OFFENSE
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
- DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
On Friday December 11, 2020 at approx. 3:33 PM Officers with the Berwick Police Department were patrolling the area of U.S. Hwy 90 when they observed a vehicle to be traveling 76 mph in a 55 mph speed zone. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Hwy 90 by activating the overhead lights and sirens and the vehicle refused to stop however eventually came to a stop in the parking lot of a local business. Officers attempted to make contact with the driver who was identified as Bridget, and he resisted officers and a taser was deployed. Bridget was then able to flee again from officers in his vehicle at a high rate of speed and returned back to the highway with no regard to oncoming traffic. Officers pursued and Bridget eventually exited his vehicle and fled on foot near Jupiter St. An off duty Officer was able to intervene and assist in taking Bridget into custody with no further incidents. Bridget was observed discarding something during the foot chase and officers conducted a search of the area where they located Marijuana and Adderall pills. Bridget was placed under arrest and later transported to the Berwick Jail where he remained this morning waiting for bond to be set.
Sean Hester Jr. B/M of Monroe was arrested on Friday December 11, 2020 at 2:53 AM for
- SPEEDING 84 MPH IN 60 MPH ZONE
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I HEROIN
On Friday morning December 11, 2020 at approx. 2:09 AM officers with Berwick Police were working radar enforcement on U.S. Hwy 90 when they clocked a vehicle traveling at 84 mph in a 60 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Hester. During the course of the traffic stop, Hester was observed to be acting in a nervous manner and officers tried to gain consent, however Hester refused. A K-9 unit from the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics being in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of Heroin and Hester was placed under arrest. Hester was later transported to Berwick Jail where he later posted a bond of $2,500.00.
