Berwick Arrest Report 1-9-2020

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Thomas Nickens W/M 37 yoa of Browning Dr. Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at 10:12 pm for

  • SPEEDING 62/45
  • DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION

On Wednesday January 8, 2020 at approx. 10:01 Berwick Officers were patrolling the area of La Hwy 182 when they clocked a vehicle speeding 62 mph in a 45 mph posted zone. Contact as made with the driver who was identified as Thomas Nickens.  Nickens was asked to produce his driver’s license and stated that he did not have it because it was suspended.  Officers conducted a check on the status of the license and confirmed that it was in fact suspended. Nickens was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Jail. He was booked on the charges and was released on a $327.00 cash bond.
Taylor Davis W/M 21 yoa. of Natalie Lane Patterson was arrested early Thursday morning January 9, 2020 at 1:20 am for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING (Berwick Warrant)

On Thursday morning January 9, 2020 at approx. 1:20 am Officers observed a male subject walking in the street in Renwick Subdivision and stopped to make sure everything was ok. Upon doing so the subject was asked to identify himself however told officers that he did not have to identify himself. A second officer arrived on scene and knew the subject to be Taylor Davis who Berwick P.D. held and active warrant for. Davis was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick P.D. He was booked into the Berwick Jail and remains incarcerated on a $176.00 bond. The warrants stems from an incident that occurred in November 2019 in which officers responded to a call of a large fight on California St.  Davis was identified as one of the subjects involved but had fled the scene and a warrant was prepared for his arrest.
