Berwick Arrest Report 1-27-2020

Ethan Scioneaux W/M  21 yoa of Riverside Dr. Berwick was arrested on Saturday January 25, 2020 at 1:51 am for

  • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA 1ST OFFENSE

On Saturday morning at approx. 1:51 am Berwick Officers were patrolling the area of Renwick Subdivision when they observed a vehicle acting in a suspicious nature. Officers indicated that the vehicle continued to drive slowly through the neighborhood and kept traveling the same streets which arose the suspicion of officers. A traffic stop was conducted due to this activity and the driver was identified as Ethan Scioneaux. During the course of the investigation, officers stated that Scioneaux became extremely nervous which lead officers to ask for consent to search his vehicle which was refused. A K-9 unit from the Morgan City Police Dept.  was called in to assist and the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.  Officers conducted a search of the vehicle  and located a small amount of Marijuana. Scioneaux was placed under arrest and later transported to Berwick P.D. He was booked into the Berwick Jail and posted a $2,000.00 bond and was released.


Jarred Gros  W/M 31 yoa of Two Brothers St. Amelia , La. was arrested on Sunday January 26, 2020 at 2:25 am for

  • CARELESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
  • TWO TAIL LIGHTS REQUIRED
  • VEHICLE LICENSE REQUIRED
  • NO INSURANCE

On Sunday morning at approx. 1:15 am Berwick Officers were patrolling the area of La Hwy 182 when they observed a vehicle with one working tail light. Officers turned around to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle turned off of La Hwy 182 on to Thorguson Dr.  During this time, the vehicle lost control and ran  off the roadway in to a ditch.  Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Jarred Gros. Gros admitted that he observed officers and that he was trying to get out of the area when he lost control of his vehicle.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that there was no license plate on the vehicle and also no insurance. Therefore officers placed Gros under arrest and he was later transported to Berwick Jail. He was booked on the charges and later posted a $504.00 cash bond and was released.


Leroy Dolphin  B/M 65 yoa. of Jefferson St. Lafayette, La.  was arrested on Sunday January 26, 2020 at 12:27 pm for

  • VIOLATION FO PROTECTIVE ORDERS (Berwick Warrant)
  • TELEPHONE COMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT (Berwick Warrant)

On Sunday Janaury 26, 2020 Berwick Officers traveled to Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and took custody of Leroy Dolphin for active warrants that Berwick Police Dept. held for his arrest.  The warrants stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday Janaury 25, 2020 iin Berwick in which a complaint was received about threats being made over the phone. During this investigation, it was also learned that a Protective Order had been in place which prohibited Dolphin from having any contact with the victim.  Dolphon was developed as a suspect and warrants were prepared for his arrest.  Lafayette P.D. was contacted and asked for assistance in locating Dolphin. On Saturday night, Lafayette P.D. located Dolphin at his residence and placed him under arrest.  Dolphin remains in the Berwick Jail waiting for bond to be set.
