Bayou Vista Man Wanted For Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Sheriff Greg Champagne is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Joe Joseph Walker Jr., a 41-year-old male from Bayou Vista, Louisiana.

Walker has a warrant issued for his arrest for one count of Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle (A.T.V.), and one count of Attempted Theft (Utility Trailer), granted by the 29th Judicial District Court Honorable Judge Connie Aucoin. The warrant stems from an investigation into an attempted theft that occurred on August 29, 2020 in the 400 block of Grand Bayou Road in Bayou Gauche, Louisiana. During the incident, Walker attempted to steal a utility trailer that was loaded with an all-terrain vehicle. The owner of the trailer exited his residence, at which time Walker fled the scene towards La 306.

Walker is also wanted for questioning in relation to a separate theft of a utility trailer bearing Louisiana L/P # L737296 that occurred on August 27, 2020 in Des Allemands, Louisiana.

Walker’s last known address is 442 Neptune Lane in Bayou Vista, Louisiana. Walker is described as a white male, approximately 5’2” tall and weighs approximately 150 lbs. Walker may be driving a 1998 4-door Buick Century beige in color, bearing Louisiana L/P # 533 BXU registered to Walker at 106 Missy Lane Morgan City, Louisiana. Walker’s vehicle has a distinctive white colored rear-wheel on the passenger side, and black colored front-wheel on the same side. Walker’s vehicle was last seen in Plaquemine, Louisiana on August 30, 2020.
