Bayou L'Ourse Woman Arrested On Felony Theft Charge

BAYOU L’OURSE – The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 47-year-old Bayou L’Ourse woman on felony charges related to theft on Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said deputies were dispatched to a Bayou L’Ourse retail establishment in connection with the theft of US currency.
They arrested Valerie McKee, 47, of 100 Moffet Court, Bayou L’Ourse, LA.
Deputies made contact with Asset Management Protection personnel who advised that an employee now identified as Valerie McKee, was suspected of stealing a store deposit from December 6, 2019.
Deputies viewed video surveillance for the relevant period and then interviewed McKee.
Based on inculpatory statements made by McKee, as well as video evidence, deputies concluded that McKee did steal the intended deposit from the store’s safe. That theft was valued in excess of $3,000.
Based on all factors considered, McKee was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

McKee was released after posting bond.
