A train conductor is fortunately in good condition after being shot in the leg Tuesday night in Baldwin. Baldwin Assistant Police Chief Samuel Wise III told KQKI News that the conductor was an innocent bystander as he was working on a train engine at approximately 9:15 pm. He said that's when two vehicles drove up and starting shooting. The conductor was grazed in the right leg and was not seriously injured.
Wise said officers discovered 14 gun casings at the scene, including nine from an AK-47 and five from a 9 mm. He said the vehicles left the scene after the shots were fired. The vehicles are described as an older model maroon Toyota Camry and an older model small SUV with dark tinted windows.
