Assumption Parish Sheriff Warning Of Scam

NAPOLEONVILLE – The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office says that they are receiving complaints from residents of a potential SCAM in which calls are being received from unidentified persons demanding social security numbers.
Residents are told by the caller that he/she has outstanding fines that need to be paid in order to avoid potential arrest, and requests personal information.
In some cases, the caller leaves a voicemail message demanding a return call in order to satisfy the fines due.
A recent call back number used is 855-841-2454.
The department is urging residents to refrain from providing any information and to not provide any payment method.
